The South Sudan Football Association held an awards ceremony this afternoon at SSFA Head Quarter in Rock City. to honor the best players and coaches of the first round of the inaugural season of the South Sudan Premier League.
According to the tournament’s organizing committee, the awards covered the best player and coach of the month for the periods between December 23 and January 23, and from January 23 to February 23, 2025.
In the first month, Kator FC’s coach, Nikola Peter, won the Best Coach award for January, while Kator’s striker, Emmanuel Taku, was named Best Player.
Jamus FC’s coach, Jean-Claude Luboko, joined the list of winners by receiving the Best Coach award, while Al-Merrikh Bentiu’s striker, Mohamed Musa Al-Dhai, was honored as the Best Player.
The ceremony was sponsored by MTN South Sudan, the official sponsor of the Premier League, in collaboration with the South Sudan Football Association. Valuable prizes were awarded to the winners.
Additionally, the telecommunications company provided financial support to the federation, amounting to $300,000 over the next three years.
It is worth mentioning that the South Sudan Premier League kicked off on December 23 of last year, featuring 14 clubs from various federations affiliated with the General Federation. The first round of the competition has concluded, with Jamus Juba FC currently leading the league standings.
