Jacob Malith Apiu, the Assistant Commissioner of Customs in Nimule, has denied reports claiming that long-distance truck drivers were killed along the Nimule highway, stressing that no deaths occurred during the recent incidents.
Speaking to the press, Malith said that “the circulating reports about the killing of truck drivers are false,” explaining that “only one person was attacked on the other side of Rock City, while two others were attacked in the Jebel area within Nimule.”
He added that the authorities provided treatment to the three injured individuals, noting that they “have recovered and are now driving their vehicles themselves,” and concluded by confirming that “no deaths have been recorded.”
