Al-Merrikh Bentiu Crushes Al-Merrikh Renk with Ten-Goal Rout in Cup Quarter-Final

Al-Merrikh Bentiu decimated their rival Al-Merrikh Renk with a 10-0 thrashing in the final match of the quarter-finals of the 14th edition of the South Sudan National Cup, held yesterday afternoon at Juba National Stadium.

Last season’s runners-up, Al-Merrikh Bentiu, secured the final spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.

The goals for Al-Merrikh Bentiu were scored by Chan David (super hat-trick), Aluk Akiech, Nelson (two goals), Yohana, substitute Jack James, and an own goal by a defender from Al-Merrikh Renk.

Al-Merrikh Bentiu is now set to face Aweil United in the semi-finals.

Galbalasad 1 × 2 Aweil United

Aweil United narrowly edged past Galbalasad Melut with a 2-1 victory in their quarter-final clash, held yesterday at noon at Juba National Stadium.

Goals for Aweil United were scored by Bol and Akol, while Abdullah netted the sole goal for Galbalasad. The Melut side had to finish the match a man down after one of their players received a second yellow card and was sent off.

With this result, Aweil United advances to face last season’s runners-up, Al-Merrikh Bentiu, in the tournament’s semi-finals.

The semi-final matches of the South Sudan National Cup will be played on April 26 and 27 at Juba National Stadium.
