Jonglei Governor and Commissioners Visit Pibor on Peace Mission

On Monday, the Governor of Jonglei State, Dr. Riek Gai Kok, accompanied by several county commissioners, arrived in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPA) on a mission aimed at promoting peace, with a focus on the Inter-Communal Governance Structure (ICGS).

According to the Governor’s media unit, he was received by the Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area. A brief statement shared by local media on social media platforms noted:
“Today, the Governor of Jonglei State, Dr. Riek Gai Kok, arrived in Bicbic Boma in Gumuruk County within the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), to participate in the ICGS peace initiative.”

The visit aims to strengthen dialogue among local communities and support peace efforts in the region, as part of the government’s strategy to reinforce local governance institutions and achieve community stability.
