On Monday, Major General Madhang Majok Meen, Governor of Lakes State, concluded an extensive eight-day tour of communities in Shuweibet County and returned to Rumbek, the state capital.
The governor’s tour featured a series of programs and initiatives focused on promoting peace and reconciliation, strengthening the rule of law, and delivering community-centered services as a cornerstone of his governance vision. During his visit to the county headquarters, the governor met with local communities, authorities, and stakeholders to discuss key issues aimed at sustaining peace and stability in the state, emphasizing the importance of constructive cooperation among all parties.
From Shuweibet, the governor continued his tour to Malon-Pech, Cit-Chok, Tiaptiap, Pagor, and Abiriu Payam, where he encouraged communities to foster unity and cooperation among themselves and with neighboring communities, supporting local peace and stability.
Upon his return to Rumbek, the governor was received by members of the state cabinet and officials of the Rumbek Municipality.
