The Central Equatoria State Security Committee has confirmed that the security situation across the state remains stable, noting that the general situation has been normal with only a few isolated incidents that have been brought under control.
This was revealed during the committee’s ordinary meeting, chaired by the State Governor, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, during which members discussed a number of key issues, including a review of the existing tax system, efforts to harmonize tax collection mechanisms, and the necessary security arrangements to secure the upcoming New Year celebrations.
The committee issued directives to security organs to take strict action against individuals illegally collecting taxes in markets. It also called on citizens and members of the organized forces to refrain from indiscriminate gunfire during the celebrations, stressing that adequate security forces will be deployed to maintain peace and public order.



In another development, the committee called for immediate investigations into a cattle-related conflict between herders from Bor and Mundari in Rego area of Terekeka County, which resulted in loss of lives. The committee also affirmed its commitment to working jointly with the Democratic Republic of Congo to address issues related to border concerns with Morobo County.
Furthermore, the committee urged the public to cooperate with security agencies and to refrain from engaging in gang-related activities, emphasizing that the police will continue their crackdown on gangs and all forms of criminal activity as the state prepares to welcome the New Year. Citizens were also encouraged to share any information that may help curb criminal activities and enhance community security.
