President Salva Kiir Mayardit has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to restoring peace, security, and stability across the country during a meeting with the top leadership of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO).


The meeting included a high-level delegation from the movement, led by its Interim Chairman, Ambassador Stephen Par Kuol, and Agok Makur, the party’s Secretary General. Discussions focused on issues of peace, security, and governance, as well as the progress of the implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement, including the constitutional drafting process and preparations for the upcoming elections.

In a press statement, Ambassador Stephen Par Kuol said the meeting centered on strengthening national stability and ensuring the implementation of political agreements in a manner that contributes to lasting peace in the country.
For its part, the government reaffirmed its full commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the coming period, creating an enabling environment for a peaceful political process and improved service delivery to citizens.
