The Ministry of Health of the Republic of South Sudan has announced the commencement of incentive payments for health workers in facilities supported under the Health Sector Transformation Project (HSTP), following the signing of the first-quarter output agreement with UNICEF South Sudan.
The Ministry stated that UNICEF, through its accredited Financial Service Providers, has begun disbursing outstanding incentive payments covering the period from July to September 2025. These incentives, the Ministry noted, are a key component of efforts to support and motivate frontline health workers and ensure the continued delivery of essential health services to the population.
According to the Ministry, payment operations have started in relatively accessible counties, including Yirol West County (Lakes State), Bor South County (Jonglei State), and Awerial County (Lakes State), where a significant number of health workers have already received their incentives.
The Ministry explained that preparations for disbursement in the remaining facilities have reached advanced stages, with payments expected to be completed in the coming days following the conclusion of biometric data verification to ensure accuracy, transparency, and accountability.
The Ministry of Health expressed its appreciation for the patience, professionalism, and dedication of health workers, emphasizing that their continued service remains the backbone of the national health system. It further reaffirmed its commitment to continued collaboration with UNICEF and other partners to ensure the timely completion of incentive payments across all states and counties.
