President Salva Kiir Bids Farewell to Egyptian Ambassador Mohamed El Moatez at the End of His Tenure in South Sudan

President of the Republic of South Sudan, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, on Friday morning bid farewell to the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to South Sudan, H.E. Mohamed El Moatez Mostafa, marking the conclusion of his official four-year diplomatic mission in the country.

The meeting, held at the Presidential Palace in Juba, reviewed the outcomes of the bilateral relations between the two nations during Ambassador El Moatez’s tenure. Both sides commended the remarkable progress made in political, economic, and cultural cooperation, reaffirming the deep historical ties that unite South Sudan and Egypt.

President Kiir praised the Egyptian ambassador’s role in strengthening relations between Juba and Cairo, lauding his efforts in fostering closer ties between the two peoples. He also expressed his high appreciation for the ambassador’s diplomatic contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors, encouraging him to continue advocating for South Sudan even after his return to Egypt.

For his part, Ambassador El Moatez extended his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to President Kiir, the government, and the people of South Sudan for the support and warm hospitality he received throughout his posting. He reaffirmed Egypt’s continued commitment to supporting South Sudan across various development and strategic sectors.

El Moatez also described South Sudan as a “promising and beautiful country,” urging its citizens to uphold peace and stability as the foundation for sustainable development and national prosperity.
