The President of the Republic, Salva Kiir Mayardit, held talks with the King of the Shilluk Kingdom, Kuongo Dak Padiet, on a range of national issues, foremost among them the path toward stability and democratic transformation in the country.
During the meeting, the Shilluk King renewed his support for the upcoming elections, expressing his backing for the state leadership’s efforts to advance a peaceful democratic transition that would strengthen political stability and build confidence in the electoral process.

The King also outlined his plans to return to the Shilluk Kingdom following a medical trip abroad, noting his intention to mobilize communities in Upper Nile State to promote national unity and reinforce a culture of peaceful coexistence among different groups.
For his part, President Salva Kiir stressed the importance of collective national efforts, affirming that progress requires adherence to the principles of unity, transparency, and joint action for the common good. He also warned against unilateral actions that could undermine national cohesion, calling on various leaders to prioritize cooperation and teamwork.

The President further expressed concern for the King’s health and well-being, directing his entourage to ensure he receives the necessary care, and praising his status as a respected national figure widely regarded across the country.
