Eberechi Eze scored the decisive goal to lead Crystal Palace to their first major title in history, winning the FA Cup with a 1-0 triumph over Manchester City on Saturday. City’s Egyptian player Omar Marmoush missed a penalty in the match.

Eze netted the goal from a brilliant counterattack that began with a sequence of passes from the back. Daniel Muñoz delivered a low cross into the area, which Eze met with a first-time strike that found the back of the net in the right corner.
The referee awarded City a penalty in the 34th minute after Bernardo Silva was fouled in the box, but Marmoush missed the chance, shooting to the right corner where goalkeeper Dean Henderson made the save. Marmoush was substituted in the 76th minute and replaced by Phil Foden.

A goal scored by Muñoz for Crystal Palace in the 58th minute was disallowed after a VAR review confirmed an offside on Ismaïla Sarr in the buildup.

City squandered a golden opportunity in the 82nd minute when Claudio Echeverri broke free in the box, but Henderson made a superb save to deny him.
This marks the first major title in Crystal Palace’s nearly 120-year history.
