Juba: Al-Wadi
Bentiu City settled for a 2–2 draw against their rivals Lion Hunters Yei in the opening match of Round 10 of the South Sudan Premier League (second edition), yesterday afternoon at Juba National Stadium.

The match was honored by the presence of the Governor of Unity State, Riek Bim Top, who attended from the VIP stand, along with the Minister of Housing and Public Utilities of Central Equatoria State, David Morbi the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Unity State, Gieng Kuany the First Vice President of the South Sudan Football Federation, Makur Majok; and the president of Bentiu City Club, Yohannes Musa.

From the kickoff—and specifically after only six minutes—Bentiu City opened the scoring through their player Dungus Gatiek. Akera Diamonda then added the second goal for Bentiu City in the 15th minute.
In the 18th minute, Lion Hunters reduced the gap with a goal scored by Malish Michael, which ended the first half.

In the second half, specifically in the 70th minute, Isaac Derrick scored the equalizer for Lion Hunters by netting his team’s second goal. The match ended in a positive 2–2 draw. With this result, Bentiu City raised their tally to 8 points, temporarily moving into 10th place, while Lion Hunters earned their first point in the league so far, remaining at the bottom of the standings. Both Bentiu City and Lion Hunters had lost their matches in the previous round (Round 9) to Algazala Wau and Atlabara Juba, with scores of 3–2 and 3–1 respectively.

Round 10 of the Premier League continues today with two matches. The first, at 1 p.m., features Holy Family Rumbek—fourth place with 19 points and currently experiencing administrative and technical challenges—against Al-Malakia Juba, who sit fifth with 17 points. In the second match, Al-Merrikh Bentiu—buoyed by their victory over Al-Hilal Wau in the previous round and holding 22 points—will face the struggling Wajuma Aweil, who sit ninth with 10 points after losing to Koryom Bor last round. This match will take place at 3:30 p.m. at Juba National Stadium.
