The South Sudan U-20 women’s national team crushed Djibouti 8-0 in the second leg of the first round of the African qualifiers for the U-20 Women’s World Cup Poland 2026, in a match held at Juba National Stadium.

South Sudan’s goals were scored by Aniet Wek and Vivian Iga, who scored a hat-trick (three goals), and one goal each by Nancy Joseph and Nanmam Makuac.

The first leg between the two teams had ended with a 5-0 victory for South Sudan’s women, bringing the aggregate score to 13-0 and securing their place in the second round of the qualifiers. There, they will face the winner between Malawi and the Central African Republic.

Both the first and second leg matches were held in the capital, Juba, after the Djibouti team selected the stadium as their virtual home ground.

It’s worth noting that the 12th edition of the U-20 Women’s World Cup will be held next year in Poland, featuring 24 teams from all six continents.
