UN Mission Completes Two Development Projects in Maper to Strengthen Local Governance and Improve Access to Clean Water

Maper – Al-Wadi News

In a move that highlights the resilience of Maper’s residents following a recent wave of violence, the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has completed two new development projects: the construction of a new County Commissioner’s Office and a water yard aimed at improving access to clean water for the local population.

These initiatives are part of UN efforts to support local governance and enhance basic services in the area, contributing to stability and aiding communities affected by conflict.

In a statement, UNMISS representative Gibril Turay said, “These projects reflect the unwavering spirit of the people of Maper, who continue to choose peace and strive for a brighter future.”

The projects fall within the broader framework of ongoing support provided by UNMISS to local communities in South Sudan, with the goal of promoting sustainable development and ensuring a stable and secure environment for all.
