Humanitarian Aid Boat Capsizes in the Nile River in Jonglei State; All Passengers Survive

Jonglei – Al-Wadi Newspaper
Official sources in Jonglei State have reported the capsizing of a commercial boat transporting humanitarian food aid along the Nile River, confirming that all passengers on board survived the incident.
According to officials, the boat—owned by a local company named “Ability” and operating under contract with the United Nations—was en route to the northern part of the state when it suffered a tragic accident. The boat’s structure split in two and sank completely, resulting in the loss of a shipment of vital relief supplies.
Authorities stated that a rescue team was immediately dispatched from the city of Bor, but the boat had already sunk by the time they arrived at the scene, preventing any on-site rescue operation.
