The spokesperson for the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF), Major General Lul Ruai Koang, stated that government forces repelled a surprise attack launched by rebel forces from the National Salvation Front (NAS) on the military area under their control in Kansuk, Ngapo Payam, in Kajokaji County, Central Equatoria State. General Lul made the statement on his official Facebook page, which was shared by local media in Juba.
The statement reads: “Today, around 8:00 AM on March 25th, 2025, NAS rebel forces launched a daring attack on the defensive position of the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces in Kansuk, Ngapo Payam, Kajokaji County, Central Equatoria State. The attackers were repelled and pursued.”
General Lul confirmed that during the field search following the fleeing of the attackers, eight corpses were found on the ground, including the body of the commanding officer, Major Lado Alfred Luojang. He also confirmed that six AKM-47 Kalashnikov rifles were recovered from the fleeing NAS fighters, who had scattered into the forests after causing chaos in the region.
