Al-Nidal team defeated its rival, Al-Nimr Club, with a score of 4-2 in a match held this afternoon at Malakal Stadium. The game was part of the first round of the 2024-2025 South Sudan Local Cup Championship in Malakal.
In other matches, Al-Rabita and Friends of Paris clubs qualified after Fashoda and Al-Ahly clubs failed to appear at the stadium. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal, Al-Tadamun, and Young Star clubs won against Shawy, New Star, and Al-Nisr clubs with scores of 5-0, 2-0, and 6-5 in penalty shootouts, respectively.
With these results, Al-Nidal advances to the second round of the championship alongside Al-Rabita, Friends of Paris, Al-Hilal, Al-Tadhamun, and Young Star.
The tournament will continue tomorrow, Friday, with a match between Malakal City and Al-AIstiqlal at Malakal Stadium as part of the first-round games.
