The President of the Republic, Salva Kiir Mayardit, today presided over the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed ambassadors to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, emphasizing the need to move forward with reforms aimed at strengthening the effectiveness of South Sudan’s foreign policy.
During the ceremony held in the capital, Juba, President Kiir called on the new diplomats to remain committed to defending national interests and to represent the country honorably with integrity and professionalism in their respective postings abroad.
Kiir underscored the importance of confidentiality in diplomatic work, noting that the information entrusted to ambassadors is a responsibility that must not be compromised. He urged them to uphold their oath and safeguard state secrets while carrying out their duties.
The list of ambassadors sworn in includes Albino Madut Majok, Victoria Nyandur Makamw, Lual Ngeth Agany, and Ayak Leon Garang.



For his part, General Aieu highlighted the vital role diplomacy plays in serving national interests, stating that diplomats act as a crucial link between political leadership and the international community, as well as key contributors to advancing economic interests.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the President directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to intensify efforts to strengthen bilateral relations with other countries and to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethics in diplomatic service.
