Buffalo, the reigning champion of last season’s South Sudan local cup in Juba, continued its title defense campaign by defeating Nyakuron 3-1 in the tournament match held yesterday afternoon at Buluk.
Buffalo took an early lead with a goal by player Mudathir in the 16th minute. In the 35th minute, Nyakuron managed to level the score.
Buffalo reclaimed the lead just before halftime, with its professional player Pawak scoring the second goal five minutes before the break.
In the second half, specifically in the 55th minute, our national team star Yohanna Paulino scored Buffalo’s third goal. The game continued without further score changes until the referee’s final whistle, securing Buffalo’s 3-1 victory over Nyakuron.
With this win, Buffalo advanced to the fourth round of the tournament and will face Lologo in the quarterfinals.
The match was officiated by a team led by central referee Shaker Sabit, with Jean Charles as the first assistant, George Nicola as the second assistant, and Anthony Okira as the fourth official.
