Taj Alei advanced to the second round against Al-Zalzal Majbuong in the Cup

Through penalty shootouts, Taj Alei advanced to the second round of the South Sudan Local Cup in Abyei. The match between the two teams took place yesterday at Mulmul Playground in the first round of the tournament.

Taj Alei took the lead within the first quarter of an hour, with a goal by player Manychol. Al-Zalzal equalized through player Deng before the midpoint of the first half.

The first half ended in a 1-1 draw. The second half continued with neither team able to secure a winning goal, leading the referee to end regular time. A penalty shootout was required to determine the team moving to the next round.

Taj Alei players successfully scored all six of their penalty kicks, while Al-Zalzal’s player missed their sixth attempt. Taj Ali won the shootout 6-5, advancing to the second round alongside teams Al-Merreikh, Amadjang, Nile Abethook, and Mayom Ngok.

The tournament continues this afternoon with a match between Rubmamir City and Nyamuora in the first round at Mulmul Playground.
