FIFA announces the presentation of THE BEST Awards in Doha

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced the date of the 2024 THE BEST Awards ceremony to reveal the winners of the ninth edition of the award.
The ceremony will take place on the eve of the FIFA Confederations Cup Qatar 2024™ final between Real Madrid and Pachuca and coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Aspire Academy.
The Best Awards ceremony will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 17 December, in Doha, Qatar.
The Best Awards have several categories, including Best Player, Best Coach, Best Goalkeeper, Best Goalkeeper and Best Formation for Men’s Players, as well as Best Player, Goalkeeper and Coach for Women’s Teams and Best Formation for Women.
The categories also include the Puskas Award for the best goal, the Fair Play Award, and the Best Spectator Award.
FIFA revealed that it has introduced a new award this year, the Marta Award for the best goal scored by a female player, in honour of the Brazilian legend.
For the first time, fans will be able to vote for the World’s 11 Best Players and the World’s 11 Best Players.
Voting will be split equally between the public, current men’s and women’s national team captains and coaches, and media representatives for the Best Player, Best Player, Best Goalkeeper, Best Goalkeeper, Best Coach in the men’s category and Best Coach in the women’s category.
For the Supporters’ Award, the winner will be entirely up to the fans, while the Fair Play Award will be selected by the FIFA Expert Panel.
The new award – the Marta Award – and the Puskas Award for the most beautiful goal will be equally divided between the public and a panel of FIFA legends.
The Best Awards saw Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah absent from the list of nominees.
The Best Awards will take place ahead of the 2024 Intercontinental Cup final between Real Madrid and Pachuca, scheduled for Wednesday at Lusail Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
