South Sudan lose to DR Congo in Afrobasket 2025 qualifiers

Our national basketball team lost its third game in Group A of the Afrobasket qualifiers for the African Basketball Championship in Angola 2025, against the Democratic Republic of Congo with a score of 76-69 yesterday, Sunday, in Dakar, Senegal.

The Shining Stars had opened their participation in these qualifiers by beating Morocco 82-66 in the first game. In the second game, they beat Mali by 85 points to 60.

Three teams from each of the four groups qualify for the decisive stage of the qualifiers, which will be held in Morocco in February 2025.

The South Sudanese basketball team is ranked in the latest monthly ranking of African teams and 23rd in the world.
