Dr. James Alek Garang, the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, along with his accompanying delegation, visited the Ruweng Administrative Area, where they were received by the local government and citizens.
The purpose of this official visit was to assess a plot of land measuring 150 x 150 square meters for the construction of a branch of the Bank of South Sudan in the Area.

It is important to note that the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan had made a similar visit to Unity State for the same purpose, inspecting the land allocated for the construction of the central bank branch in Bentiu, the capital of Unity State. This move has been described as significant for enhancing the financial infrastructure in South Sudan.
The land area in Unity State is 200 x 120 meters.
The expansion in this field is part of the national bank’s strategy outlined in the amended Bank Act of 2011.

The goal of establishing new branches is to improve transparency, provide vital advisory services to state governments, and implement a presidential decision passed during last year’s Governors’ Forum. This decision aims to expand the bank’s operations and increase access to financing across the country.
Government officials in Unity State and Ruweng warmly welcomed the visiting delegation, showing great interest in this initiative as it is expected to contribute to achieving the development goals
