According to International Surrey conducted some years ago, found South Sudan as one of the potential suitable tourism destination site in Africa.

DERAWET village, one of several villages belonging to Baliet Section of Ngok Lual Yak (Baliet County), Upper Nile State where this company derived its name is a tourist destination site along the Sobat River as you can see the herds of elephants moving to Sobat River in the vicinity of DERAWET village and it surrounding areas.

DERAWET MEDIA GROUP is adventuring into travel & hotel industry development, and tourism sector to promote and open DERAWET area to potential local & international tourists.

Baliet County too has parks full with wildlife namely : Agwiir (Galachol Payam), Ayiidiit (Nyokrial Payam) , Johor (Kuel Payam), and Nyienrout ( Abwong Payam), all could be upgraded to National Parks in the future alongside Boma & Pochalla Counties in Pibor Administrative Area, Nimule Payam, Magwi County, Eastern Equotoria state & Northern Jonglei State.
