The Minister of Finance and Planning of the Government of South Sudan, Dr. Bak Barnaba Bak Chol, chaired today the 96th meeting of the Public Finance Oversight Committee, where key reports were reviewed on the developments in crude oil production and sales, alongside an assessment of non-oil revenue performance during the first half of the 2025/2026 fiscal year.

“We officially welcomed the new ministers joining the committee, a step that strengthens collective responsibility and reinforces the principles of transparency, accountability, and sound economic governance.” Minister stated.
In the context of advancing ongoing economic reforms, the Minister reaffirmed his firm commitment to ensuring prudent management of public resources and directing them toward priority sectors, contributing directly to improving citizens’ living conditions.
Dr. Bak Barnaba also expressed his deep appreciation for the continued partnership and constructive cooperation with the co-chairs and committee members, including the United Kingdom, in enhancing public finance management systems and supporting sustainable development pathways in the Republic of South Sudan.
