Yesterday, the capital, Juba, witnessed an official ceremony honoring the newly appointed Assistant Inspector General of Police, Lt. Gen. Garang Akuei Ding, as Inspector General of Police, Gen. Said Chawul Lom, presented him with his new rank during a formal meeting at the Police Headquarters.
In a similar initiative, the Directorate of Border Police honored more than 70 officers and non-commissioned officers from the Border Police who were promoted to various ranks, under the patronage of the Assistant Inspector General of Police for Border Police and Livestock, Lt. Gen. Dr. Olaw Adiang Nyijok, on Monday.




Lakes State Police Commissioner, Maj. Gen. Chol Atem Gonjeth, also celebrated the appointment of Gen. Said Chawul Lom as Inspector General of Police and congratulated the officers and non-commissioned officers recently promoted within the South Sudan National Police Service.
Maj. Gen. Chol Atem emphasized that these promotions reflect dedication, discipline, and loyal service to the nation, stressing the importance of upholding the values and responsibilities that come with the new ranks. He added that the celebrations, taking place at the start of the new year, provide an opportunity to renew the commitment to peace, unity, and service to the people.
He concluded by noting that the occasion serves as an inspiration for collective efforts toward a safe, peaceful, and prosperous South Sudan, urging everyone to continue enhancing security and serving the citizens.
