One citizen, speaking to a friend, complained that delays in completing official procedures at the Passport and Nationality Department had left a deep psychological impact on him and his brother. He said that more than a year has passed since his brother began the process of obtaining national citizenship, and later completed the procedures to apply for a passport, yet the official card has still not been issued to this day.
This unjustified delay in issuing documents was not merely a routine administrative matter; it resulted in real and serious losses. We lost a job opportunity that could have improved our living conditions, and I personally missed the chance to participate in a training course abroad that would have helped develop my skills and open new professional horizons.
This reality raises legitimate questions: Why are doors closed to those who strive to improve their standard of living? And why do legal procedures—meant to safeguard rights—turn into obstacles that deprive citizens of their right to a dignified life?
The continued disruption by the relevant authorities, foremost among them the passport authorities, raises serious questions about work mechanisms and commitment to citizens’ rights, especially for those who have not violated the law, but rather complied with all required procedures and are still waiting for a legitimate right that has been delayed without clear justification.
