The Chairman of Derawet Media Group, Mr. Monyjok Kong Monyjok, received Mr. Deng Leek Deng, Director General for Planning and Research at the Ministry of Information, Communication, Technology and Postal Services – Telecom Sector, during a courtesy visit aimed at gaining closer insight into the institution’s activities and various media services.
During the visit, Mr. Monyjok Kong provided a comprehensive briefing on the branches of the media institution and the role it plays in delivering media and information services to audiences and readers across the country.
Monyjok Kong highlighted a number of challenges and difficulties facing the media sector, particularly on the technical and economic levels, and explained their impact on media production, the flow of news, access to information, and the delivery of information to citizens throughout South Sudan.
For his part, Mr. Deng Leek Deng commended the institution for its role in providing news and information services, praising the efforts of the young professionals involved in supervising, editing, and preparing media content, and their contribution to strengthening media work and serving the community.
