Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets with Director General of African Regional Intellectual Property Organization to Strengthen Cooperation with South Sudan

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Akuei Bona Malwal, held a briefing meeting with Bemanya Twebanze, the Director General of the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO).

The meeting focused on the importance of South Sudan’s potential membership in the organization, as well as the establishment of an ARIPO office in Juba to enhance the protection and management of intellectual property rights within the country.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, reflecting the joint cooperation between the two ministries to activate South Sudan’s engagement with regional intellectual property frameworks.

Both parties emphasized their commitment to strengthening relations and cooperation to ensure South Sudan benefits from expertise and support in the field of intellectual property.
