Al Madina qualifies at the expense of Zamalek on penalties

Malakal/Alwadi

Al Madina team qualified for the second round of the South Sudan Local Cup in Malakal for the 2024-2025 season. Zamalek defeated Zamalek on penalties 6/5, after their match in the first round of the competition at Malakal Stadium ended in a goalless draw.

The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw between the two teams. In the second half, Al Madina took the lead with the first goal. Zamalek equalized soon after. The game ended in a goalless draw. The two teams went to a penalty shootout, which went 6/5 for Al Madinah.

Al Madina joined Al Rabita, Asdiqaa Paris, Al Hilal, Al Tadhamun, Young Star, Al Nedhal, Al Istiqlal, Super Eagle Al Salam, Al Shabiba, Simba and Al Jil in the second round of the competition.

The tournament will continue today with a meeting between Jil Al Salam and Al Wehda in the first round of the tournament at the Malakal Stadium.
