Amid impassable roads caused by seasonal flooding and ongoing security risks, the World Food Programme (WFP) has resorted to aerial airdrop operations to deliver critical food assistance to families facing severe food insecurity in Uror County, Upper Nile State.
The remote town of Pieri was among the targeted areas for the airdrops. Repeated conflicts and harsh environmental conditions have forced many families to flee their homes, leading to a sharp decline in livelihoods and a growing need for humanitarian aid.
Despite immense logistical challenges, WFP continues its determined efforts to reach the affected communities, reaffirming its commitment to stand by the most vulnerable—even if it means taking to the skies to deliver help.
