Al-Merrikh Bentiu secured a massive victory over rivals Malakia Torit with an 8-0 scoreline in the second leg of the first round of the 14th edition of the South Sudan National Cup, held yesterday afternoon at Buluk Playground.

With this win, Al-Merrikh clinched a 13-1 aggregate score across the two matches, earning last season’s runner-up a place in the second round of the tournament.

Nile City Advances to Second Round on Penalties

Nile City Yambio advanced to the second round of the South Sudan National Cup after defeating Jau City Panriang 4-3 on penalties in the second leg of the first round, held at Buluk Playground.

Jau City had won 3-0 in regular time, the same score Nile City had won by in the first leg, forcing a penalty shootout.

As a result, Nile City moves on to the next round of the tournament.

Jamus Overcomes Saint Mary

Jamus Juba overcame Saint Mary Terekeka with a 4-2 victory in the second leg of the first round of the South Sudan National Cup at Buluk Stadium.

Jamus won the tie with a 9-2 aggregate score, earning last season’s champions a spot in the next round.

Alamaal Alhurra into the Second Round

Alamaal Alhurra Kuajok advanced to the second round of the South Sudan National Cup from Group A (Rumbek) after defeating Anyanya 2 Yirol 2-1 in the second leg at Al-Hurriya Ground.

The first leg had been awarded to Alamaal Alhurra due to Anyanya 2’s failure to show up on time. The aggregate score stood at 4-1 in favor of Hurriyya.

Gold Star Turns Deficit into Big Win Against Mading Achweng

Gold Star Rumbek came from behind to defeat Mading Achweng Abyei 4-1 in the first leg of the Group A matchup at Al-Hurriya Ground.

The two teams will meet again for the second leg on April 9.

Majok Ajuong Turns the Tables on Gazelle Wau

Majok Ajuong Wangjok overturned a 1-0 deficit to secure a crucial 2-1 win over Gazelle Wau in the first leg of the tie at Al-Hurriya Ground.

They will face off again in the second leg tomorrow, April 8.
