The Algerian women’s national team has qualified for the second round of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after defeating South Sudan (3-0) on Tuesday evening at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida. With this victory, they secured an aggregate win following their 5-0 triumph in the first leg.

Ghoutia Karchouni opened the scoring in the 15th minute, giving “The Greens” the lead by halftime. After the break, Laura Taleb doubled the score in the 52nd minute, before Karchouni struck again in the 89th minute to seal the 3-0 victory.

With qualification secured, the national team will face Cameroon in the second round, scheduled for October, in a decisive stage on the road to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals.
