Final Roster Selection for South Sudan Basketball Team in Afrobasket 2025 Qualifiers

The final selection of 12 players has been made to represent the South Sudan national basketball team in the decisive round of the African qualifiers for the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket in Angola.

The squad includes Garang Deng and Both Gach for the first time, while the return of Jo Lual provides a morale boost for the team after his last appearance in the AfroBasket 2021 qualifiers.

The selected players are: Junior Madut, Peter Jok, Sunday Dech, Majok Deng, Kur Kueth, Kuany Atem Kuany, Lat Mayen, Deng Deng, Jo Lual Achuil, Jackson Makoi, Both Gach, and Garang Deng.

The Bright Stars will kick off their campaign against the host nation, Morocco, tomorrow (Friday) at Ibn Yassine Arena in Rabat at 10:00 PM local time. They will then face Mali on February 22, before concluding their matches against the Democratic Republic of the Congo on February 23.
