For the 13th time, and the second time under the new system, Inter Milan’s first football team qualified for the final of the Italian Super Cup, after a 2-0 victory over Atalanta on Thursday evening in Riyadh, to book a place in the final, scheduled for Monday, awaiting the winner of the Juventus and AC Milan match on Friday.
Saudi Arabia is hosting the Italian Super Cup for the fifth time, which last season switched to a four-legged round-robin system instead of a single match since its inception in 1988.

Inter Milan defeated Atalanta with two goals scored by Dutch right-back Denzil Dumfries in the 49th and 61st minutes at the All-Park Stadium, the scene of all the matches in the current edition.

For the fourth consecutive season, Inter are playing for the Italian Super Cup, which they have won eight times, most recently last year in Riyadh at the expense of Napoli.
The last three editions have seen Inter’s colours, as well as 1989, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010.

The team is playing its fourth season under Italian coach Simeone Inzaghi, who has led them to win six trophies, including the last edition of the domestic league.
