Holy Family makes debut with win over Lions Hunters

Holy Family Rumbek kicked off their participation in the first edition of the South Sudan Premier League (SSPL) with a thrilling victory over Yei’s Lion Hunters by three goals to two. The match was played yesterday afternoon at the Juba National Stadium, as part of the second round of the tournament.

Holy Family took the lead first in the 12th minute through Abraham. Molouk added the second goal in the 17th minute, which ended the first half of the match.

Early in the second half, Henry reduced the deficit for the Lion Hunters by scoring his side’s first goal in the 46th minute.

In the 70th minute, Abraham scored his second goal and Holy Family’s third, marking his personal double. Henry reduced the score for the Lion Hunters a minute later with his second personal goal for his team.

The game continued at this pace until the referee announced the end of the match with Holy Family beating Lion Hunters 3/2.

Holy Family picked up their first three points of the tournament from one game, after their first round match against Olympic Renk was postponed. Lions Hunters’ tally stands at three points.

Young Star Torit and Koryom Bor will meet in the second round of the tournament in the afternoon at the Juba National Stadium.
