The South Sudan national football team achieved an important victory at the Juba National Stadium against Rwanda by three goals to two. In the first leg of the second round of the East and Central Africa Region qualifiers CECAFA for next year’s African Cup of Nations.

The first goal was scored by a Rwandan defender in the 13th minute, then Mandela added the second goal in the 20th minute, which ended the first half of the match. In the second half, the Rwandan team scored the first goal.
Azpon then increased the Bright Stars’ lead with the third goal in the 53rd minute. The Rwandan team reduced the scoreline with the second goal. The referee then announced the end of the match as South Sudan won by three goals to two.

The two teams will meet again on the 28th of this month in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, in the second leg. To determine which team will advance to the next round.
