South Sudan’s Transitional National Legislative Assembly Mourns Former Chief Justice Ambrose Ring Thiik

The Transitional National Legislative Assembly (TNLA) of the Republic of South Sudan has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of former Chief Justice Ambrose Ring Thiik, describing his death as a great loss to the nation.

In an official statement issued by the Office of the Speaker, a copy of which was received by Drawit Media and Al-Wadi Newspaper, the Speaker, Joseph Ngere Paciko, extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathy, on his own behalf and on behalf of the members of the Assembly, to the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased, praising his distinguished career in the service of justice and the rule of law.

The statement emphasized that the late Thiik was one of the most prominent legal figures in South Sudan, playing a pivotal role in strengthening the foundations of the judicial system during his tenure as Chief Justice. He was noted for his integrity, wisdom, and courage in carrying out his duties, which contributed to establishing a strong legal framework for the country.

The statement further noted that Thiik’s passing represents a significant national loss, as the country has lost a prominent statesman, a guardian of justice, and a widely respected leader. It affirmed that his contributions will remain deeply rooted in the history of the Republic of South Sudan.

The Assembly also expressed its full solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult time, praying that God grants him eternal peace and bestows patience and comfort upon his loved ones.
