The Governor of Lakes State, Maj. Gen. Madhang Majok Meen, arrived two days ago in Maborduang area of Rumbek East County, following the conclusion of an official visit to Makundi in Wulu County, as part of a tour aimed at promoting peace and strengthening security within local communities.
During his return journey, the Governor passed through the historic town of Biling, where he inspected several sites and landmarks linked to the liberation struggle. He also met with community leaders from Thonic, Biling, and Aduel bomas, who welcomed him and raised key challenges facing the area, particularly the ongoing incidents of cattle theft.
In response, the Governor reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to continuing efforts to combat cattle rustling and enhance peace and stability across Lakes State, stressing the need for strict enforcement of the law against those involved in such crimes.
The Governor also handed over copies of the “Blue Book” to the Area Commander and the Commissioner of Rumbek East County, emphasizing that the agreements and provisions contained in the document are non-negotiable and that any violation will be dealt with firmly under the law without exception.
He further directed security forces to take strong action against individuals involved in cattle theft and other illegal activities, reaffirming the government’s commitment to protecting citizens and their property.
Governor Madhang Majok is expected to spend the night in Maborduang before traveling to Rumbek the following morning.
