Juba – May 4, 2026
The Office of the Governor of Central Equatoria State has expressed deep concern over misleading and malicious allegations recently circulated on social media accusing the State Governor, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, of involvement in land grabbing.
In an official statement, the Office affirmed that these claims are entirely false and baseless, describing them as politically motivated attempts aimed at tarnishing the Governor’s image and undermining the credibility of the State Government.
The statement further explained that Governor Emmanuel Adil has consistently demonstrated a firm and unwavering commitment to combating land grabbing and safeguarding the rights of lawful landowners in Juba and across the State. It added that under his leadership, the State Government has intensified efforts to uphold the rule of law in land administration through several measures, including strengthening planning and documentation systems, enabling rightful owners to reclaim their land, and enforcing strict administrative actions against violators.
The Office of the Governor called on citizens to disregard rumors and misinformation being spread for political purposes, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to transparency and accountability across its institutions.
Regarding the plot located in Jebel Nyoka, the statement noted that it had been exceptionally allocated by former Mayor Kalisto before the Governor later issued a decision to cancel that allocation.
The statement emphasized that the Office of the Governor will take all necessary legal measures to address what it described as an ongoing campaign of defamation and misinformation, affirming that the State leadership will continue its efforts to combat land grabbing and promote sound land governance.
