The Governor of Upper Nile State, Jacob Dollar Ruot, today presided over the official swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed government officials, in a move aimed at strengthening the state’s administrative and governance structures.
The ceremony included the oath-taking of state advisers, government ministers, members of independent commissions, as well as county commissioners. The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, senior state officials, traditional leaders including sultans and community representatives, in addition to family members of the appointees.
In his address, the Governor congratulated the newly sworn-in officials on the trust placed in them, emphasizing the importance of carrying out their duties with integrity, commitment, and accountability. He stressed that public service is a national responsibility that requires dedication and transparency in serving citizens.
The Governor further called on the new leadership to prioritize unity, peace, and development across the state, highlighting the need for coordinated efforts among government institutions to address challenges facing local communities.
He also urged officials to strengthen cooperation with traditional leaders and local communities to ensure the effective and tangible delivery of services to citizens.
The ceremony concluded with the officials taking their constitutional oath, pledging to uphold the constitution and work diligently in service of the people of Upper Nile State.
