Major General Madhang Majok Meen, Governor of Lakes State, returned yesterday to the state capital, Rumbek, following a three-day field tour of Rumbek North County, which included visits to several areas and extensive meetings with local and community leaders.
During the tour, the Governor met with local authorities, traditional leaders, civil society representatives, and youth groups to discuss the county’s main challenges and opportunities. He emphasized the importance of promoting sustainable peace, strengthening institutional stability, and ensuring fair and equitable delivery of public services to all citizens.

The Governor highlighted that these three pillars—sustainable peace, institutional stability, and equitable services—form the foundation of his leadership vision and governance approach. He stressed that the development of local communities and the achievement of comprehensive growth are directly linked to citizen engagement and fostering a culture of dialogue and participation.
He also affirmed that the local government will continue its efforts to strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders in the county to ensure ongoing stability, improve public services, and support economic and social development, positively impacting citizens’ lives and reinforcing community cohesion across Lakes State.
