Juba – Al-Wadi Newspaper

The Office of the Vice President for Infrastructure Affairs, led by Lieutenant General Taban Deng Gai, has issued a press statement clarifying the recent rumors circulating regarding his alleged prevention from traveling through Juba International Airport.

Manyiel Dut Kok, Press Secretary of the Office of the Vice President and Chairperson of the Infrastructure Cluster, stated that the office reviewed a Facebook post by a well-known opposition propagandist and distorter of facts, Juol Nhom-ngek, who claimed that the Vice President was prevented from traveling this morning by security forces at Juba International Airport.

Dut Kok emphasized that this information is completely false and that no such incident occurred. He explained that travel arrangements involving the Vice President are pre-arranged by the state protocol days in advance, and no security clearances are conducted on the day of departure.

He further urged citizens, especially social media users, to verify the accuracy of any information before sharing or circulating it, stressing that spreading rumors and misleading information does not serve the public interest and undermines national efforts toward peace and unity.

The Press Secretary concluded the statement by calling on everyone to avoid propaganda and misinformation and to contribute to building a nation characterized by stability and peace.
