Foreign Minister Meets Director General of Civil Aviation to Discuss ICAO General Assembly Outcomes

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Monday Semaya Kumba, met today, Monday, with Mr. John Waja Elinana, Director General of the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Juba.
The meeting focused on key outcomes of the 42nd General Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which recently concluded in Montreal, Canada. The two officials discussed ways to benefit from the assembly’s recommendations to strengthen South Sudan’s civil aviation sector.
They also explored prospects for South Sudan’s participation in international aviation forums, as well as the country’s growing role in regional airspace management—an important step toward enhancing cooperation and integration among countries in the region in this vital sector.
The meeting comes as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to coordinate national positions on issues related to international relations and technical cooperation with specialized organizations.
