Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) – South Sudan has announced the implementation of a humanitarian aid distribution targeting the most affected families by recent flooding in Mayendit County, Unity State, in coordination with the County Health Department.
The distribution, which took place on 2 October 2025, included the delivery of 600 Non-Food Item (NFI) kits to vulnerable households in Rubkuay, Thaker, and Tutnyang Payams. Each kit contained buckets and jerrycans for water storage, water purification tablets and solutions, as well as hygiene items such as soap and cloths, along with blankets and plastic sheeting for shelter support.
This intervention followed a field assessment conducted by MSF last month as part of its ongoing response to the flood crisis, which has significantly impacted the livelihoods of people in the affected areas.
The organization also confirmed that it is working in coordination with the Mayendit County Health Department to support Primary Health Care Centers impacted by the floods through the donation of medical supplies, aiming to ensure that local communities continue to receive essential healthcare and services during this difficult period.
