Kenya and Italy Celebrate Six Decades of Strong Diplomatic Relations

Kenyan President Dr. William Ruto bid farewell to the Italian Ambassador to Kenya, Roberto Natali, during an official ceremony held at the State House in Nairobi, marking the end of the ambassador’s diplomatic mission in the country. President Ruto expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Ambassador Natali’s efforts in strengthening bilateral relations and wished him success in his future endeavors.

In a post on his official Facebook page, President Ruto praised the longstanding and solid ties between Kenya and Italy, noting that the two countries have enjoyed over sixty years of excellent diplomatic relations built on strong foundations including trade and investment, education, health, agriculture, culture, and people-to-people connections.

The Kenyan president reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continued cooperation with the Italian government in implementing the Mattei Plan for Africa, which aims to deepen partnerships in energy, infrastructure, and health—key sectors for promoting sustainable development across the continent.
