Juba: Al-Wadi
All eyes today, Friday, turn to the conference hall at the headquarters of the Bank of South Sudan in the Gendoro district of the capital, Juba, to follow the fourth extraordinary Elective Congress of the South Sudan Football Federation, convened to elect a new board of directors for the next four years.

Contesting the presidency are the current president of the association, Augustino Maduot, and his predecessor, Francis Amin. Running for the position of First Vice President are current vice president Charles Udwar, Makur Majok, and Simon Peter. Competing for the position of Second Vice President are Deng Abdulrahman and Vinancio Amom.

Augustino Maduot has led the association over the past four years and is seeking the general assembly’s confidence to continue heading the country’s top football governing body. Former president Francis Amin, meanwhile, is hoping this time to unseat his rival and reclaim the presidency he lost in 2021 to General Maduot.

A total of 38 delegates from the 16 local associations that are members of the South Sudan Football Association are preparing to cast their votes to elect a president, two vice presidents, and members of the executive committee for the next four-year term of the association.
