Malakal Municipality Launches Campaign to Rehabilitate Rainwater Drainage Channels in Preparation for the Rainy Season

Malakal Municipality launched a large-scale campaign this morning to rehabilitate the city’s rainwater drainage channels, aiming to improve rainwater runoff and reduce the risk of flooding during the upcoming season.
The campaign was inaugurated in the presence of Malakal Mayor Mr. Tor Ream, his Deputy for Land and Environmental Affairs Mr. Rongo Yor Kur, as well as environmental health officers and several public service officials.
Local authorities confirmed that the campaign will continue until all drainage channels in the various neighborhoods of the city are rehabilitated. They emphasized the importance of this project in strengthening infrastructure and enhancing environmental and public health safety.
