Moroccan club RS Berkane has been crowned champions of the CAF Confederation Cup for the third time in its history, after overcoming the challenge of Tanzanian side Simba in the tournament’s final.

The second leg of the final between Simba and RS Berkane ended in a 1-1 draw, but the Moroccan side’s 2-0 victory in the first leg secured their triumph in the competition.
The match featured intense competition from the first whistle, with RS Berkane posing a clear threat early on—specifically in the 14th minute, when Yassine Labhiri’s dangerous header was saved by Simba goalkeeper Musa Kamara.

Simba responded swiftly in the 18th minute through Joshua Mutale, who gave the Tanzanian team the lead and kept their hopes of winning the Confederation Cup alive.
Simba scored the first goal of the match following an impressive run and a breakthrough into the penalty area, capped by a low cross that reached Joshua Mutale, who fired a powerful shot into RS Berkane’s net.

However, RS Berkane’s Soumaila Sidibe made Simba’s comeback attempt impossible by scoring the equalizer in the 90+3rd minute, cementing the Moroccan team’s superiority and rightful claim to the Confederation Cup title.
