In a significant step to support those affected by the conflict in Morobo State, the Minister of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare, Hon. Zendia Eluzai Abu, in cooperation with the Minister of Health, Hon. Nejwa Juma Mursal, handed over dignity kits and emergency medical supplies to the Morobo Primary Health Care Center.

The supplies included antimalarial and antibiotic medications, as well as dignity kits containing hygiene materials and sanitary pads, intended for displaced women and girls from various regions.

During the handover ceremony, Hon. Zendia emphasized that her ministry, in collaboration with partners, had secured these supplies to assist displaced women and girls who have lost much of their belongings due to displacement. She stated, “We came to Morobo quickly because we know that many of you had to leave your homes, and that’s why we brought these dignity kits.”

For her part, Hon. Nejwa explained that the emergency medical drugs would greatly help the displaced persons from the three payams of Panyume, Kimba, and Gulumbi. She also assured continued coordination with the National Ministry of Health to ensure future drug supplies.

Mustafa Duku, the Clinical Officer in Charge at the Morobo Primary Health Care Center, expressed gratitude to the local authorities for the support provided. He confirmed that these supplies would have a significant impact on the displaced and vulnerable women in the region, while also noting that the center faces major challenges due to the lack of a mortuary and surgeons.

In closing, the ministers praised the efforts of the healthcare workers at the center, commending the cleanliness of the facilities and stressing the importance of continued cooperation to provide essential support for those affected in Morobo State.
